Robert Clark Seger (born May 6, 1945) is an American rock musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist from Detroit, Michigan. Seger emerged from the Detroit rock scene in the mid-1960s and spent a decade building a regional following before breaking nationally with Night Moves (1976) and the landmark double live album Live Bullet (1976). His work with the Silver Bullet Band through the late 1970s and 1980s produced a string of multiplatinum albums, including Stranger in Town (1978), Against the Wind (1980), and Like a Rock (1986). His music blends heartland rock, R&B, and Americana, and his live performances became legendary for their energy. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
