Album context

Released on May 5, 1978, Stranger in Town reached #4 on the Billboard 200 and was certified six-times platinum. It contains some of Seger's most enduring songs, including "Still the Same," "We've Got Tonite," "Hollywood Nights," and "Old Time Rock & Roll." The latter became one of the most-licensed songs in American advertising history. The Eagles' Glenn Frey and Don Henley provided backing vocals on several tracks.
